My guitar is plugged in, my track is armed and yet I hear nothing. I clicked on Logic preferences audio and can see that Duet is selected for both input and output.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the latest software from Apogee. I have the original Apogee Duet and purchased the 400 firewire to 800 cable + thunderbolt connector. I was getting set to return this for repair but i'm finding enough things in my searches to realize it doesn't seem to necessarily be just my unit being bad. Only two things plugged into USB, and this happens even when the other device is not plugged in. If I'm in Windows boot camp, then I suddenly get a 'this drive would work better if it were plugged into a USB 2.0 port' message. Drives that have no problem on any other mac, on this one, will always just suddenly disconnect. I have the same thing with a late 2009 mac mini.

Sorry for clogging the forum with driver update posts. I don't get any kind of Apogee emails for updates so it's just periodic checking for me in order to make sure I'm current.
Supposedly fixes a couple issues, one of which was really bugging me (automatic Maestro launch). The last one was sometime back in May of 2008. I noticed today that there is a new Duet December 8th update. I've been using this setup for the past year and have been happy with it. I know a lot of you also use the Apogee Duet with your Logic 8 setup.

I doubt it's anything to do with the cable because I have been using it since 2010 without any problems until yesterday.Any ideas on how to fix this? Please help!Currently running: Logic Pro 9.1.8 (32 BIT) OSX 10.6.8 Mac Pro Tower 2.66 Ghz Quad Core Intel Xeon 7GB Mhz DDR3 RAM Apogee Duet. Very annoying.If i pull out the fire wire cable and reconnect, it temporarily comes back but then vanishes again without warning. It then automatically switches to my screen display audio.
I updated to Snow Leopard (10.6.8) yesterday and now for some reason my Apogee Duet sound card keeps disappearing and randomly disconnecting.
